Meet Edie
I have been a criminal defense attorney for 25 years. I defend people accused of crimes ranging from misdemeanors to the most serious felony and murder cases, in Oregon state courts and the United States District Court for the District of Oregon.
I am a trial lawyer. I prepare every case with the expectation that it may end up in front of a jury — and I am not afraid to take it there; which is why, in 2025, I won back-to-back murder trials in Multnomah County, Oregon.
I began my career as a Multnomah County Public Defender, where I represented thousands of clients charged with every type of criminal case and gained extensive trial experience. I later worked at a large insurance defense firm, handling complex civil litigation — an experience that gave me valuable insight into how opposing institutions prepare and think about cases.
My clients are not case numbers. I take the time to understand who they are, what happened, and what is at stake for them and their families. I bring the same intensity to every case — whether someone is facing a misdemeanor charge or the possibility of spending the rest of their life in prison.
In my prior life, I was a stand-up comedian — a craft that provided great training ground for my legal career. And while not a household name, I am very proud of winning Portland's Funniest Person.

I am a trial lawyer. I prepare cases with the expectation that they may end up in front of a jury, and I am not afraid to take them there. I have won back-to-back murder trials, along with representing clients in serious felony, misdemeanor, and federal criminal cases throughout my career.

Being an aggressive defense lawyer does not mean being the loudest person in the courtroom. It means knowing the case. Knowing the evidence. Finding the weaknesses in the prosecution's theory.
